2011 Arkansas Razorback Prediction Recap

I wanted to keep my predictions on the same information so I continued with them as if Knile didn't get hurt. It will be tougher to go undefeated and win that National Championship. It is however still possible. If Ronnie Wingo and Dennis Johnson don't get a rhythm early in the season then it will be tough to run the table in the SEC with no run game. I used EA SPORTS NCAA FOOTBALL 12 on PS3 to make simulations of the 2011 season. I then gave my prediction as well as reported the results of the simulation. There were some games that I felt the simulation was dead on with and some that were crazy. One of the craziest was the Auburn game in which the simulation said the game was going to be a blowout. There is no way its a blowout. Auburn has lost too much of the offense for them to blow out the Hogs. I really think the key to the season will be the Razorback defense. There will be some shootout games but they wont be high scoring ones. I can see several 17-14 type games this year Alabama, Miss State, Texas A&M to name a few. This year would be the best chance the Hogs have had at a National Title in a long time. Hogs should get at least 10 wins and make a push for the SEC West and the SEC Championship. I really feel like a return trip to New Orleans is in the cards for the Hogs. Its just a matter of Sugar Bowl or National Championship Game. My prediction:
If my record of 13-0 was to hold up then Hogs would be in New Orleans playing in the National Championship. I think the Hogs have the talent to do it. At worse I see the Hogs 8-4 and in the Cotton Bowl. I really think the Razorbacks will be somewhere around 10-12 wins and playing in a Bowl game in New Orleans. Both the National Championship and the Sugar Bowl will be in New Orleans this year.

My prediction:
Miss State is a scary team this year. I don’t think it will be a blowout like EA Sports did. I can see a second straight year of overtime. I am not confident about this game at all. I will say it goes to OT and Miss State misses the extra point for the loss.

Hogs have been a little up and down but mostly up the last few weeks. I have no idea what happened to Miss State. They have some decent talent but they just haven't lived up to their expections.

Hogs will be firing on all cylinders getting ready for the big showdown next week vs #1 LSU Tigers.

 Stephen Garcia is the key to this game. If he plays up to his potential it could be a long day for the Razorbacks. If the Stephen Garcia that played the Hogs last year shows up then it should be a painless game for the Hogs. Just like EA Sports is predicting I see this game coming down to the wire.

This game shouldn’t even be close. After losing Cam Newton, Auburn has to find a new identity. Auburn lost way to much to be very competitive this year. They may sneak up on some lower end SEC teams but not the Hogs. After coming up short last year the Hogs should be looking to get some payback and a big win.

My prediction:
This is a scary game. Hogs have beaten A&M the last two years since they started playing in the Classic. The Aggies are better this year but so are the Hogs. The defense of the Hogs will be the shining factor in this game as well. I don’t see any way the Aggies score 41 on the Hogs. This will be a battle but I feel the Hogs will pull out a close one in the end.

My prediction:
This is a huge game with possible SEC West Championship implications on the line. Alabama will be the first true test of the season. The Hogs defense will be the key for this game. Hogs passing game should be clicking pretty good by this game. If the o-line and the run game is clicking then there could be some big yardage and points put up. Even if the o-line and the run game is not on point, the defense will be the heroes of the game and keep the Crimson Tide offense out of the endzone much. The excitement over this years Hog  team makes me think that they will get the job done and beat the Tide.

My prediction:
This game will be the first real test of the season. Troy isn't a scrub but they are no powerhouse either. Hogs should cruise comfortable in this game. Get a little more tuned up for the big match-up next week with the Crimson Tide. The important thing for the Hogs in this game is not completely overlook Troy. They are good enough that they could surprise the Hogs if they are not ready. With that said this is a Bobby Petrino coached team and he always has his teams ready for that weeks opponent. Probably see the starters go a little longer to make sure they are in football shape for the next game.

My prediction:
This is another glorified scrimmage game. Offense will just be vanilla as they work on getting a few more plays in but will keep it simple not to give too much away to Alabama. Should be a very easy win with the talent the Hogs have. Backups should get some good playing time in this game as well. The fans will be nuts for this game since its in Little Rock and the atmosphere there is always crazy.

Missouri State at Arkansas Season Prediction

Ok so a week later I am finally getting to my first season prediction blog. EA Sports doesn't have Missouri State on the game but they are listed as some generic team. According to the EA Sports sim the game stats are as follows for the Hogs:

My prediction:
This game is nothing but a glorified scrimmage. The stats probably wont be impressive because the starters wont play the whole game. Should be an easy win. The hope for this game is that the starters get some good reps and no one gets injured.

It's almost time for Football

Football is just around the corner. NFL Lockout is over and Pro football can move on and will begin on time. College football is getting ready to fire up as well as some teams are getting ready to start fall practices. Over the next week or so I will be putting out blog posts going over my predictions for the upcoming Arkansas Razorback season. I will use EA Sports NCAA 12 for PS3 to simulate the games and report those results as well as my opinion on those results and whether I feel that is the prediction for that game. I hope to also do the same for the Dallas Cowboys using Madden 12.  I should have the first game up later today or tommorow so stay tuned.
