Refs, Quarterback Controversy, and Tigers Oh My!

There are several reason as to why the Razorbacks lost this past weekend to Auburn. The reason everyone wants to focus on is the very bad officiating. There were several blown calls in this game no doubt about it, but they alone didn't cost the Hogs the game. You can not put your self in a situation that allows the refs to help decide the outcome. I think of MMA here where they are constantly being told don't leave the outcome of the fight to the judges. The defense got beat period. They have been bending for several weeks now so its no surprise that they finally broke. There was a lot of pressure put on this team to start the season. Many fans had the attitude of BCS Championship or bust. Everyone knew the defense would be the Achilles heel of this team. They played great the first part of the season but are now showing they are not a top defense in the SEC. Auburn fans are the only ones that can deny that most of those calls made by the refs were BS. Refs aren't the only thing that have people talking after the game Saturday. There is some rumbling out there about about a Quarterback controversy. Listen up Hog fans there is NO QB CONTROVERSY! Tyler Wilson did pretty good in relief of Mallett after he got hurt. Coach Petrino's system is setup so that the backup gets enough snaps during practice to feel comfortable should he have to play. Plus Wilson took all the first string snaps during the spring because of Mallett's foot injury. Tyler Wilson will be a good replacement for when Ryan Mallett decides to leave. Mallett has the experience that is needed to succeed thus making him the best man for the job when healthy. Cam Newton is one heck of a player. The Auburn Tigers are a mediocre team without Newton. He make that team so much better. Every team that plays Auburn has one big game plan, stop Cam Newton. The problem with that is that it is much easier said than done. Arkansas still has a good chance at a good season. If they were to win out they would be 10-2, not a bad season at all. Even 9-3 would still be a good season. The expectations placed on this team says that those records or worse are a disappointing season. The last six games are winnable games. The razorbacks need to toughen up, play hard nose defense, and play more responsible football to finish the season strong.
This is just my opinion on things but I would love to read yours just comment below and let me know what you think.

  1. It was just what it was- one game! People need to realize this as truth. Either way, your blog was well thought out and objectively identified the key problem areas. Excellent job!
