A short look at the current state of the Arkansas Razorback Basketball Program
Tonight is a must win game for the Razorbacks. There are only 8 games left in the regular season including tonight's game. After losing two straight games at home the Hogs really need to get a victory tonight to start a salvage to the season. They are 14-8 currently with most of their wins over fluffy opponents. There are some very winnable games left on the season. A lot of fans want coach John Pelphrey fired ASAP. I don't really care for the guy myself but I know its not all his fault for how the last few years have turned out. Arkansas Razorback basketball hasn't been Nationally relevant in over 12 years or so. Pelphrey had an uphill battle his first year going from recruiting for a Sunbelt team to recruiting for a SEC team on short notice. He had to get some guys that may have had some character flaws. One example of that is Cortney Fortson. Fortson had a long history of variable violations in his tenure at Arkansas. Pelphrey and his coaches also haven't done a great job on recruiting top-notch talent. Next years recruiting class will be one to remember if those kids live up to their hype. The big question for next year is: Will John Pelphrey be the Arkansas Razorbacks mens coach? Only Athletic Director Jeff Long knows the answer and most think his decision will be made pending how this season ends. I personally hope the Hogs end the season on a streak and win a few games in the SEC tournament and at least qualify for the NIT. If they do that then it can be said that this years team improved upon last years team. I also hope next years big recruits will create a buzz around the basketball team like the football team had this past season.

We better be keeping Pelphery! I think we owe it to him!
